How I created a Skincare Brand for DJs and Music Industry Insiders by Francesca Lombardo

The music industry is non-stop—late nights, long flights, and constant exposure to club smoke, sweat, and stress. As someone who has spent years immersed in this world, I saw firsthand how these conditions take a toll on the skin. It was this realisation that led me to create a skincare brand specifically designed for DJs, artists, and music professionals who live life on the road. I have been studying for 4 years now and soon will graduate and become an official natural skincare formulator as well as in beauty brand business manager and I cannot wait to be able to start this journey.

The Inspiration

I’ve always been passionate about skincare, but it wasn’t until I started touring with artists and attending endless music events that I noticed a glaring problem—most skincare products aren’t made for people in this industry. I saw DJs battling breakouts from sweaty club nights, artists struggling with dehydration from flights, and managers barely having time to wash their faces properly. The usual routines just isn’t cutting it.

That’s when I decided to create something tailor-made for this lifestyle. A skincare brand that is simple, effective, and built to combat the unique challenges faced by music professionals mainly.

The Process

Starting a skincare brand from scratch isn’t easy. I spent months researching ingredients, testing formulas, studying and working on the brand. The goal is to develop a line that:

  • Fights fatigue & dehydration – Since travel and nightlife can suck the moisture out of your skin, hydration became the foundation of my products.

  • Combats breakouts & oil buildup – Long nights and heavy sweating can clog pores, so I needed solutions to keep skin clear without harsh chemicals.

  • Is quick & travel-friendly – Most artists don’t have time for a 10-step routine, so I kept things simple with easy-to-use products.

  • Looks and feels premium – Just because you live on the go doesn’t mean your skincare should feel basic. The products had to match the high-energy, high-fashion vibe of the music industry.

The Launch

Once I had the perfect formulas, the next challenge was branding. I wanted something edgy, cool, and different from the overly polished, spa-like aesthetic of traditional skincare brands. The visuals, packaging, and messaging have to resonate with artists, DJs, and creatives. My aim is to launch by the end of this year to be realistic. I know many of you are waiting for us to become alive, but we really are, we are that close!

Lessons Learned

Building this brand taught me so much, not just about skincare but about entrepreneurship and understanding my audience. Here are some key takeaways:

  • Solve a real problem – The best brands emerge when you address a genuine need. I am not just making skincare; I am creating solutions for an overlooked community.

  • Stay authentic – Our customers connect with our brand because it is real. I don’t just create a skincare line—I live the lifestyle and know exactly what they need.

  • Community is everything – The music industry thrives on relationships, and so does a great brand. We build our audience through real connections, not just marketing.

The Future

We’re just getting started. As the brand grows, we’re looking to expand our product line and collaborate with artists to make skincare an essential part of every musician’s tour kit. The goal is simple: to keep the industry’s skin as fresh as its beats.

To everyone out there grinding in music, nightlife, and entertainment—your skin doesn’t have to suffer for your lifestyle. And that’s why I created this brand.

Stay fresh, stay hydrated, and keep the music alive.
